Think of you often during the summer months as that is when your pop in visits were most likely to occur. Hoping that somewhere up there you are having fun with my father and my grandparents and a host of others at the largest BBQ party ever. I know my father and grandfather will be manning the grill while the three of you plan some kind of hijinks to play on someone while my grandmother chat with Shirley  about what those three could be up to!

Still think of you often and miss your smiling faces.

I think of you and Shirley often and all the wonderful times we shared.  I hope you both are traveling the country in your RV and going to baseball  games. Miss you both.

Wanda, I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. My family and yours met while we were both posted to Iran and became close and fast friends immediately. It was a friendship that lasted for decades. I can't remember all the adventures we shared. There were so many of them and they continued after your father retired from the Air Force. Your parents  were always happy to hop in their RV and take off for months at a time meeting up with all their old friends along the way. I count our family so fortunate to have been a part of your family's life.  We sure did have fun together and loved when they would just drop in to spend a few days whenever they were in the area. Their famous Christmas letters (always handwritten by your mother) were always looked forward to and shared with our family each year. I will miss those letters  and your mom and dad, and smile when I remember each of the special times we shared during  those very special years.  I can just picture the surprise and joy on Chris, and my mom and dad's faces when  your mom and dad show up on their door step again. The good times will continue.

Wanda, I am so sorry to hear about your father. I remember he and Shirley with great fondness. Your parents were always such fun to be around. I remember many times in Iran when our two families would be together and how my parents (Carol and Chris Whalen), especially Dad, LOVED interacting with Smitty. I also remember them coming to see us when we relocated to Ft. Jackson in South Carolina. My favorite story is how one day my grandmother opened her kitchen door in New Hampshire to find Smitty and Shirley on her doorstep. Your dad said, "You may not remember us but...." and Granny knew right away who they were! She remembered meeting them when she came to visit us in Iran. Your parents stayed a few days and they had such a nice visit. Granny and PopPop were so thrilled to have that pop in visit and talked about it for years. My thoughts are with you and your family as you try to deal with this newest tribulation.

Fond memories of my sister and Smitty. Now Tom is with them, too. It was hard to get together while both traveling in the AF. So glad we shared good times vacationing in China, as Smitty recently talked about it often. Our sympathies to Wanda and family. 

My dad, and mom, were such loving parents. They gave me such a great life that included the love of travel. I will miss them dearly!
