Jocelyne was born on July 17, 1996 to Andres Duarte and Daysi Andrade in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jocelyne has been in the medical field for about 10 years. She was currently working at Southern Nevada Health District and recently promoted to Senior Patient Service Representative. Jocelyne’s had a natural gift for caring for others, her kindness, patience, and compassion touched everyone she met. From a young age, she was the one people turned to for comfort, support, or simply a listening ear. It was no surprise to anyone that she found her purpose in the medical field, where her nurturing spirit could truly shine. She had a heart for service.
She had a heart for service and a deep desire to make people feel seen, safe, and cared for. Whether it was with patients, coworkers, or strangers, Jocelyne gave her free time and love. Her passion for helping others wasn’t just a career choice, it was who she was at her core. One stranger recently shared a story that speaks to the kind of person Jocelyn was:
“I never met your daughter before. I only had her on social media. During COVID, my wife and I were desperate because our 4-month-old baby needed a specific formula that was sold out everywhere. We cried, we searched every store in Vegas, and we were running out. I made a post online asking for help and Jocelyne saw it. I don’t know how or where she found it, but she got her hands on some from another state. She brought as many as she could, and once it arrived, she called me and said she had it for us. She refused to take any money and said, “As a mom, I know how important this is.” She told us we weren’t alone and that she’d keep looking. She was a blessing. She was an angel.”
Jocelyne was a devoted mother; she often said her greatest blessing in life was her children. Being a mom was her proudest role, and she poured her heart into loving and raising Adalyn, Olivia, and Julian. But when she wasn’t “Mom” and just Joccy, she was the vibrant, fun-loving soul who lit up every room she entered. She cherished spending time with family and friends, loved dancing, and always appreciated a good meal. Her laugh was infectious, her spirit uplifting, and her presence unforgettable.
Joccy had a heart of gold, nurturing, kind, and giving. She was always the first to offer help when someone needed it, and the first to show up emotionally when you felt low. She made friends everywhere she went and left a lasting impression on everyone who met her. Her heart was, without a doubt, one of her most beautiful qualities.
Jocelyne was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her 3 beautiful children, Adalyn, Olivia, and Julian Lucero and her partner Kevin Lucero. Her loving mother, Daysi Andrade and father Andres Duarte; her siblings Andres Duarte and Alyana Martinez. She is also survived by her grandmothers America Andrade and Estella Duarte, and an abundance of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever cherish her memory.
We will always carry your light in our hearts Jocelyne. Your love lives on in every life you touched.
