

John lived a life full of service, in dedication, and love. He was the proud father of three children, the grandfather of eight grandchildren, and the great-grandfather of three great-grandchildren.
John served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly wore the uniform and dedicated his life to protecting his fellow citizens. After his military service, John continued his career of service with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he worked for over 30 years, contributing to the safety and efficiency of the nation's air travel system. His work ethic, precision, and calm demeanor earned him the respect of his colleagues and those who knew him.
In 1964, John married the love of his life, Sharene. Together, they built a strong and lasting marriage that lasted for more than 50 years. His wife, Sharene, passed away in 2022, a loss that deeply affected John, but he remained resilient in the face of it, finding strength in his children and extended family.
As a father, John was known for his strict, no-nonsense approach to parenting. He held strong values and was determined to raise his children with discipline, responsibility, and respect for others. His stern manner and firm beliefs shaped the lives of his three children. John was a man of principles, and he instilled those principles in his children and grandchildren who will forever carry his legacy with them.
John is survived by his three children: Jeff Wilson and his wife Judy, Julie Edmiston and Michael Wilson and his wife Darla, his eight grandchildren: Lindsay, Riley, Adrianna, Amanda, Jacob, Jenae, Trace and Alexa. and his three great-grandchildren, James, Carmen and Aubrie. John is also remembered by his friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
John Wilson's life was a testament to devotion—to his country, his family, and his community. He will be deeply missed forever.
John entered into heaven and was reunited with his wife, sister and great-granddaughter.
A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Cheyenne, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 1:20 PM to 2:00 PM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.
