Joseph A. McFee was born to Nathaniel and Nancy McFee on January 24, 1939 in Oak Grove, LA. As a young child, he received his early education in Oak Grove. He believed in Jesus Christ & received Christ as his Lord & Savior at an early age. He recommitted his life to Christ at New Bethel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Jesse L. Wesley. He later moved his membership to Second Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor D. Edward Chaney. He remained a faithful member until his health began to fail.
Knowing they both met their treasured prizes, Joseph and Barbra met in 1974, being inseparable ever since. When you saw Joseph you also saw his beautiful wife next to his side.
Joseph was employed at the Nevada Test Site from 1964-2001, retiring after many years of service. Not a man to sit idle, he went back to work. For eleven years, he worked at the Mirage Hotel and Casino until his health would no longer allow him.
On June 30, 2017, Joseph’s mission and purpose on earth was complete.
Joseph will be remembered for his warm smile, hearty laugh and his warm and passionate love for his family. He was also dedicated to bowling, chess and fishing, but electronics was where his love was felt the most. Joseph was a humble man who enjoyed life to the fullest.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Nancy McFee, brother, James Smith and two grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his priceless and treasured memories; his wife, Barbra, daughters, Angela Conway-Hill (William), Sandra Carter-Pullens (Jesse), Tammy Carter and one son, Anthony Johnson (Raymeshia); 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Downtown Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
