

Kenneth Wayne "Ken" Holland, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017. He was born October 28, 1932 to Walter Alton and Dora Edith Holland in Clay County, Texas, and was a 53-year resident of Clark County, Nevada. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was retired as an Engineer for the City of Las Vegas Fire Department and a plumber. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Henry; and his brother, Michael. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy; daughter, Susan (Eric); son, Sam (Marci); daughter-in-law, Anna; sister, Diane; brother, Joe Lynn; five grandchildren, Tess, Alex, Emma, Jacob and Joshua; as well as countless other family members and good friends. While his family and friends all have distinctive fond memories of Kenneth, he will be most remembered for his work ethic and comradery at the Las Vegas Fire Department, good times shared by him and his crew while sailing "Cutie Pie," his 33-foot Monohull Hobie Cat Sail Boat on Lake Mead and in various ocean races, his love of the automobile, most notably his 1931 Model-A Roadster, his ability to repair anything and most of all, his love of family. We celebrate Kenneth's life today, as he is leaves with the wind in sailing across the sky, on Friday, April 28th, 2:00 p.m. at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV. Burial will take place Tuesday, May 9th, 10:00 a.m. at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV.
