Kim Christensen, 73, of Las Vegas, died November 25, 2025, after a brave battle with Parkinson’s disease. Kim was born on July 14, 1952, in Reno, Nevada. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Marlene Christensen, passing away just one month before their 40th wedding anniversary.
Growing up with three brothers (Kevin Christensen, Eric Christensen, and Ross Christensen), Kim enjoyed time spent outdoors, playing sports, and caring for his beloved family pets — a love of animals passed down from his father, Roland Christensen, of Denmark. Kim’s mother, Virginia Christensen (née Forslund), actively volunteered with PTAs and youth organizations to support her sons.
Kim excelled in the concrete trade, eventually opening his own business, Lucky Concrete, based out of Reno. In 1990, in pursuit of expanded opportunities in a rapidly growing Las Vegas, Kim moved his family to southern Nevada. He later opened Sahara Concrete, enjoying immense success working on iconic construction projects throughout the city, including T-Mobile Arena and Allegiant Stadium. His grandkids never miss an opportunity to ask which buildings their beloved grandpa worked on when exploring Las Vegas.
Kim was an exceptionally devoted father to his children, spending countless hours supporting them at their extracurricular activities, taking them on vacations, and going out of his way to show kindness and generosity to their friends whenever he had the opportunity. He loved his wife Marlene deeply and lived to make her happy. He went above and beyond every day to model what an extraordinary father, partner, and man looked like.
Kim enjoyed golfing with his friends, playing with his grandkids, and spending time with his dog Sophie (as well as sharing memories of all of the wonderful dogs he raised throughout his life, who will doubtlessly be ready to greet him, tails wagging in heaven).
He is survived by his wife Marlene; children Marisa (and son-in-law Cesar), Katrina, and Kyle (and daughter-in-law Lauren); grandchildren Oliver, Matilda, Kane, and Caroline; and brothers Kevin Christensen and Ross Christensen, who are all incredibly thankful for the beautiful memories they will carry with them during this difficult time.
A viewing and a reception with light refreshments will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Palm South Jones Mortuary. The memorial ceremony will follow at 4:00 p.m.
