

Mr. Kwasi Jirepa Awuah was born on December 18th, 1932 in Osiem, Akyem, in the Eastern Region of Ghana to Opanin Abraham Kwabena Awuah and Madam Sarah Abenaa Ayinaah. At the age of six, Kwasi began schooling at the S.D.A. School at Osiem, going on to attend S.D.A. Senior School at Bekwai. He then proceeded to the prestigious Abuakwa State College for his secondary education where he completed the ordinary and advanced level certificates respectively. He had a successful business in Accra for many years before moving to the United States.
In 1970, he moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho and later on moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1971 where he attended University of Utah. Kwasi then moved to Las Vegas in 1973 and attended Clark County Community College now known as College of Southern Nevada in 1974.
He worked for Stardust Hotel and Casino in 1974 before joining the Housing Authority of Las Vegas and becoming the manager before retiring at the age of 65. Sadly, his life journey ended at the age of 85 on January 6th, 2018 surrounded by his children and family members. Kwasi was loved by all, missed by many. He had five children; one deceased, Harold Kwasi Awuah and survived by sons Yaw Awuah and Abraham Awuah; daughters Rebecca and Naomi Awuah Boateng; stepson Richman Addi and stepdaughters Yvonne Pladna and Toni Lee; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, host of nephews and nieces.
