

LaKaisha Jefferson was born April 16th, 1981 in Los Angeles, CA to Shirley Hawkins and George Jefferson. She was the third of five children. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior on July 24th, 2011 at Power House Church of God in Christ.
She attended and graduated Sierra High School; and later, she attended American Career College in Los Angeles, graduating in 2000.
LaKaisha enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her kids, husband and family deeply. She was a free spirit; and throughout the years, she resided in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Reno and Las Vegas. She met and married James Maxwell; from this union, she was blessed with three beautiful sons, as well as inheriting two beautiful daughters.
She was a natural when it came to retaining information, thinking fast, helping others and being very organized. With those strengths, she became a pharmacy technician and worked at UMC for many years. LaKaisha was very passionate about her career.
LaKaisha was called home to be with the Lord on August 8th, 2011. She leaves behind her husband James Maxwell; her sons Miguel Rivera, Sean Rivera and Jorden Rivera; two daughters, Ashlyn Robinson and Niasia Robinson; an amazing mother, Shirley Hawkins-Walden; a wonderful stepfather Eddie Walden, who has been there for the family for 23 years. Also left are three wonderful sisters, Stephanie McGee-Smith, Triece Williams and Shaquiesha Walden; her amazing brothers, Michael Thompson and Jesse Morrison; aunties Rosa Lee Hawkins, Patricia Baldwin, aunt Matty Mae (Mississippi), Angelia Williams (Long Beach); uncle Randolph Hawkins and his daughters Ashley Powell and Junell Hawkins (Texas); Nieces Paqueasha Fowler, Mahylah Williams, Nyjah Thompson and NyBrea Thompson; nephews, Javan Springman, Zayvlon Springman, Jadin Springman, De’Ron Coker-Williams, Kulani Myrick; brother and sister-in-law Jovan Springman and Nancy Delgado; her Godmother Blanche Benson; God sister Brandy Dancy; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her church family.
