Leandro Landicho Eustaquio, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, died on the 10th of June 2019 surrounded by family at Centennial Hills Hospital at the age of 69. He was fondly known as “Andy” or “Anding” to those who knew him.
Born in San Juan, Manila, The Philippines, to Ildefonso Manuel Eustaquio and Aniceta Trinidad Landicho, he is the youngest of thirteen children. He moved from The Philippines to the San Francisco Bay Area and then spent the past 35 years living in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area.
Andy is loved and will be missed by his wife, Esther Ann Eustaquio (Goodwin) of Nevada; one son, David Leandro Eustaquio of Virginia; three daughters, Michaeline Michelle Giffone of Alabama, Esther Mary Kathryn Herrmann and Stephanie Amethyst Eustaquio of Nevada; and two grandsons, Colton Lee Amberg of Texas and Weston Ervin Herrmann of Nevada.
Andy’s family never passed up an opportunity to have some of his home cooking and a chance to try and beat their dad at a round of mahjong or cards. They may have rolled their eyes at his DIY solutions around the house but were always impressed with his organizational skills and creative problem-solving. He found simple joy in driving the dogs out in the early morning desert and letting them run free for a bit while he caught up on the sports page and his crosswords. Though he retired to the desert, his heart always dwelt on the next time he could see the ocean and be able to fish in it. Although he was a man of few words, he showed his loyal and generous nature to those who knew him in life with his deeds. No matter what profession he held in life, merchant fisherman, a truck driver, a prep cook, a retail manager, or a custodian, he tirelessly supported his family over the years so that his children could learn by his example that there is dignity in honest hard work. We love you Dad.
As Andy requested, no services will be held at this time. Condolences may be sent to 6134 Marvin Street, North Las Vegas, NV 89031. His family will be honoring his wishes with a private memorial service at a later date, where his ashes will be interred in the ocean that he loved in life.
As his immediate family mourns the loss of their husband, dad, and “Grandpa,” they would like to take this opportunity to thank all of Leandro’s relatives and friends who have reached out with their kind words of support.
