

Leonard P. McDonald was born in Boston, December 26, 1926 to Charles Benjamin and Rosetta Blanche McDonald. He moved his family from Boston to Brockton, Mass., in 1969. For the past five years he has been a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada.
He played the drums in his high school band, in the army. He was a talented jazz drummer throughout his life and was very well known for his musicianship in and around the Boston jazz community. Mr. McDonald totaled six years in the U.S. Armed services during WWII and the Korean War where he served proudly for his country.
Leonard worked for Exxon-Mobil in Everett, Mass. For thirty eight years. In his quest for excellence, he elevated himself to the position of Terminal Supervisor. Due to this vast knowledge in the oil refinery business he became a training consultant for the company after his retirement in 1992.
He was a dedicated father, a family man, and a loving husband. He is survived by Wilma L. McDonald, his wife of 58 years, his sons Reginald K. McDonald and Matthew M. McDonald, his daughters Loretta B, McDonald and Denise M. McDonald-McGuinness and husband James, a niece Delores Landrum, his grandchildren Kia Custard, Keilen, Kara, and Sonya McDonald, Tracey Holzer, Raylean Brooks, Sharon Cullors, Kevin and Miranda Valle and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Rosetta and Charles McDonald, his sons Byron Herron Jr. and Howard L. McDonald and wife Sharon, his sister Eunice McDonald and his grandson Rodney Downey.
