

Levi Barnes Jr. was born on August 29, 1946 in Wilson, North Carolina to Levi Barnes Sr. and Beulah Barnes. Levi Joined the Army in 1967 and served overseas in the Vietnam War. His military service was a source of pride throughout his life. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Levi started building a large loving family. He settled in Las Vegas and found the love of his life Tracy Barnes.
Levi and Tracy enjoyed vacationing at the beaches of California and the mountains of Nevada. They spent twenty-five years exploring the culinary offering of Las Vegas, long walks holding hands and shopping.
He had a larger-than-life personality that earned him instant friends, a wild sense of humor that kept us all laughing and a deep faith in God that helped him overcome every loss and challenge.
Levi was welcomed home by his parents, brothers Larry, Richard, and Donnie and his niece Sonya Bynum.
He goes ahead of his loving wife Tracy Barnes, children Lisa Barnes, Cynthia Barnes, Santina Robison (Britt), Erica Woolard (Ronnie) John Henry Barnes (Tiffany), Nicole Plater (Keith), Kenyatta Price ( David), Fantasia Smith (Jonathan), Johnny Gathrite (Reyna), Rashaud Gathrite (I'Yonnia), thirty-five grandkids and numerous great grandkids and nieces and nephews who adored him.

A memorial service for Levi will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Downtown, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
