I think about Linda, every Saturday night when I listen to American Routes on NPR radio, Linda and I were best friends starting sometime back in elementary school when my mother told me to invite her to my birthday party,(not my choice, but my mother's). we became best friends, got into a lot of mischief together and then at some time, parted ways. One of the things we used to do was listen to the records that were part of her father's collection from New Orleans, Another memory is of our rolling her father's (maybe Model T) down the street when her parents were at my mom' s house on Cedar St. and playing cards or something. I have been living in Hawaii since 1995 so have been out of touch with much of my life in LV, but if anyone reading this would like to get in touch, hopefully my late acknowledgement of Linda's passing will help see some of the old memories I share of her.  my e-mail: diane_renchler@me.com


Dear Tammy, I only learned today of Linda's passing.  I am so sad.  My love and prayers go out to you and your family. Linda, of course you know, absolutely loved you, Sean and her grandsons with her whole heart. I would love to be in touch with you, but at this late date (9 months later)I may not be able to get a message to you. Had I known of her passing, I would have moved mountains to get to Vegas. The last we talked was in February and I didn't get a call-back number to inquire as to her health. I tried everything I knew for 6 months to find out how she was and nothing worked. For some dumb reason I spaced out your mom's maiden name, thinking it to be Larkin. Please forgive me. I hope you and the family are doing well and I think of you often. I loved Linda. We met in 1965 and you were such a beautiful little baby. If you are in touch with Sherry Simmers, could you please ask if she would kindly contact me? I'm sorry for your loss. The love I have for your mom will always be with me. She was an awesome person! We always laughed and shared so much thru the years. I also loved Loretta and Judy. Let them also know I care. I had the amazing pleasure of meeting Linda last Monday. She was my patient and I was glad I took care of her on Tuesday as well. In two days I learned what a loving mother she was, loving sister and a best friend to one of her friends for over 30 years I think. She was such a beautiful person. She was so sweet to me offering me one of her favorite candys which was a kit Kat bar:-) I opened up to her about my life and troubles and how hard it was to lose my mother  a few years ago. She told me about her husband and son etc.. I suggested she read a book called " the five people you met in heaven" I told her what the book was about and told her there was a reason why I met her. The morning after my shift I told her I would say a pray for her and see her next week and get better! I also told her I wanted to keep in touch with her when she leaves my hospital and she agreed. I was looking forward to seeing at work this week. I was going to surprise her with a king size kit kat bar too! I found out from a co worker yesterday that she passed and I was very upset.. Her and I talked the night before she passed away that things n life happen for a reason and we weren't sure why this happened to her but maybe god or her husband or her son neede her. But one thing I do know is that heaven has another beautiful angel up there and I know she will help me out with something  that we discussed.. To her daughter , sister and everyone in her family godbless you all. I'm so thankful I got to meet mrs. Linda

Linda was the sweetest person I have known.  I met her through friends when we all played Bunco together in the mid 1970's.  She will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Love you Linda, you can rest now.

I especially remember Linda the 4 months we were "roomies" a few years ago.  We really had a great time.  Linda was a loving Mom and especially proud Grandma and she helped me at a time when I needed a good friend.  God Bless her family and friends in this time of great loss.  Love ya Linda.  Sheila

We will always miss her loving smile and her love. I especially enjoyed spending a scrapbooking weekend with her in Zion. What a lovely trip we had!!  I loved also hearing all the stories her an my Mom used to tell me of their adventures. Love you all.

I first met and last saw Linda on Sunday. She was the light of the shift. I was her CNA, Kelly. She was very aware of care needed, and yet also curious about us. She asked how our night was going. Asked me about my life. Her laughing smile cheered me. I told her I would visit next run of days I had even if not assigned there. So I was looking forward, and saw last night that she was gone. I know her close family and friends will deeply miss her. I am sad not to see her. Only knew her for one shift and it is one I will always remember and be grateful for. A truly beautiful soul!...K
