

Lois Swanson (née Glaser), 77, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on March 14, 2022 after a long battle with cancer at home with her devoted and loving family by her side. Her husband Ronald predeceased her in 2014.
Lois was born July 14, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Morton and Helen Glaser. After graduating from high school she went to cosmetology school, lived in Germany and traveled extensively throughout Europe. She moved to Las Vegas in 1973 where she attended Casino Dealing School and went on to work at many iconic casinos including the Marina, Stardust and Fremont until finally landing at Caesars Palace for over thirty years. She also lived in Aruba from 1979 -1981.
She had a deep love and caring affection for her family as well as for her pets throughout the years: Bandit I, Bandit II, Bucko, Barney, Murphy and Flopper. Lois was an avid golfer and volunteered to keep score at the Panasonic-Las Vegas Invitational for several years. She was very creative, designing robes and the best Halloween costumes. She also enjoyed her TV shows and a delicious meal, continually perfecting various dishes and baked goods.
She is survived by her sons, Jason Witz (Lana); Bobby Swanson (Laurel); sister Betty Elias (Joe); nephew Michael Elias; niece Kaitlin Elias-Vorpahl (Brian); niece Katy Martin (Doug); grand-nephew Rory Elias-Kilberg; extended family Dominic, Sicily and her beloved dog Flopper. We miss you so much already. You will always be in our hearts!
Funeral services will be held at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones, Las Vegas on Saturday, March 26 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite animal charity or the American Cancer Society.
