

Lucius “Dean” Richards, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away December 26th, 2017. He was born March 4th 1932 in Cedar City, Utah to David Harris Richards & Maggie Dean Marsden and was a resident of Las Vegas for the last 64 years. Dean was deeply involved in the Sherriff’s Jeep Posse for many years, acting in a number of capacities including commander. He loved keeping his journals and was involved with, and very supportive of, the Alcoholics Anonymous organization. He will be missed by the family and friends he leaves behind. He is survived by son James Douglas Richards and wife Beverly, of Salem, Oregon; son Russell Stacey Richards and wife Debra, in Las Vegas; son Michael Martineau Richards and his wife Carol, in Las Vegas; and grandchildren Lonnie Dean, Kristin Tytler, Joshawa, and Adam; as well as 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Gayle Martineau, his daughter Gayleen, his parents David Harris Richards and Maggie Dean as well as his brothers David Carl, Arden, Ronald, Clair, and Reed. Viewing will be held at 10 a.m., memorial service at 12:00 p.m. and a reception at 1:30, Saturday, 6th 2018, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
