
Margaret Louise "Peggy" Archer, age 66, of Pahrump, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Peggy was born January 25, 1949 in Porterville, California to Clyde and Patricia (nee: O'Connor) Dykes. She graduated from Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster, California in 1967 and attended University of California, Riverside before marrying Thomas Field Archer, Jr. in 1969. Peggy enjoyed a long career as a retail manager and most recently worked for Home Depot in the garden section. She was an avid gardener and was most happy cultivating the beauty of the earth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Archer, Jr., daughter Christiana Archer and mother Patricia Dykes. She is survived by her sons Thomas III (Sophia) and Samuel (Amber), eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; her father, Clyde Dykes of Pahrump; sister, Janet O'Connor of Fort Bragg, California; brother Daniel (Dee) Dykes, sister Marianna (Paul) Hamrick, four nephews and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas. Peggy was a woman with a heart for seeing the best in others and was selfless in her sacrifice for her family. Her sense of humor and quick wit will be missed.
