Maria Vela Ceballo

Maria Vela Ceballo was born in Panganiban, Catanduanes, Philippines on August 5, 1939 to parents Primo Dela Rosa and Antolia Cabrera Vela. Being the eldest of 7 children, she is the bread winner of the family. She studied at Panganiban Central Elementary School and finished secondary school at Alicia Panganiban Catanduanes with honors. She finished her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at the University of Nueva Caceras, Naga City. Maria pursued her Masters Degree at Catanduanes Agricultural and Industrial College, and rose to become a master teacher until her retirement in 2003. She is married to Saturnino Frias Ceballo with whom she had 3 children. She migrated to the U.S. to San Francisco, CA with her husband, and took some part time jobs to keep her occupied while enjoying her retirement years and being a member of PUSO (Panganiban United States Organization). She is known to be a kind hearted, humble, and soft spoken person with a good sense of humor and as an achiever.

She is survived by her loving husband, Saturnino, her children, Jesus, Aurelio, and Maricela, 6 grandchildren, her siblings, Santiago, Josefina, luz, Teresa, Virgilio, and Reynaldo, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.

A funeral service for Maria will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101, followed by a visitation from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
