

Marianne was raised in East Germany. As a young adult she came to America, and became a US citizen. While some who knew Marianne might describe her as an idealist, her friends and family understood well that Marianne was always in pursuit of life’s endless possibilities and opportunities available to her. Marianne was raised with three siblings. She had one brother, Armin, an older sister, Inga, and a younger sister Renate. On February 15, 1964 Marianne married Derrill Lee McConnell at Little White Chapel of Las Vegas, NV. Marianne's skill at “building bridges” played an important role in her ability to make her new family happy. Marianne was tenderhearted and sensitive, qualities that served her well in helping to nurture her family. Marianne was a natural and creative parent who was willing to provide her family with all sorts of new and interesting experiences. For Marianne, parenting was a particularly enjoyable and pleasurable part of her life. Every activity, from chores to bedtime routines, became a game in the McConnell home. Marianne's skill at understanding her children's feelings, her sensitivity to their needs, and her gift for gentle persuasion enabled her to find novel solutions to any problem or situation that might crop up. Marianne was blessed with One Child: Monique. They were also blessed with one grandson, Kyle Ryan Juedes. Marianne was a woman who was dedicated and devoted to her faith. Marianne was of Catholic religion. She was sympathetic and able to empathize with others and she used these qualities to the fullest while working tirelessly for her beliefs. Marianne was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. Maxi, a dachshund, was a best friend for 13 years. Marianne McConnell passed away on August 9, 2012 at Centennial hills hospital in Las Vegas, NV from kidney failure, Pneumonia. She is survived by her husband, Derril McConnell, her daughter, Monique, her son in law, David, her grandson, Kyle, and her brother Armin Scholzchen. Services were held at Palm Mortuary Northwest. Marianne has chosen to be cremated. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Northwest Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
