

Marilyn Lee Hill (nee Moore), passed away July 28, 2015. She was born September 17, 1945 in Burbank, California to John W. “Jack” Moore, Sr. and Ruth Standen Moore. She has been a resident of Las Vegas since August 7, 1957. She attended Las Vegas High School from 1961-1964. In her late teens and early twenties, Marilyn was a car-hop at the former Blue Onion Drive-in Restaurant. She worked at the Golden Nugget as a cocktail waitress for a time, moving to the Flamingo/O’Shea’s from 1969 until her retirement due to health reasons, in 2006. Her outgoing personality, beautiful smile (complete with dimples) made her a hit with both customers and coworkers alike. She was a very proud member of the Culinary Union all her working life.
Marilyn will be remembered by all those who loved her for her kindness and charity to others, her enjoyment of life, (especially her Halloween and Christmas parties), her devotion to her family and her fantastic sense of humor, which stayed with her to the end.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Jacqueline “Jackie” Marsh, and her brothers, John “Jack”, Jr., and Philip Moore. She is survived by her sisters Jean Trefes of Westerly, RI., Ruth Kiley of Las Vegas, her children Shawn Olson (Wendy Hannah) and Kristi Guffey (Greg) of Las Vegas, her former husband, father of her children and dear friend, George Olson, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be Monday, August 3, at 10:00 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00, Palm Mortuary Northwest. Burial, immediately following, at Palm Valley View Cemetery on Eastern and Warm Springs.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations to Marilyn’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
The family also requests, if possible, wearing purple (her favorite color). We are celebrating her life!
