

Marvin was born on October 14, 1960 in Saginaw, MI to his parents, Bettie S. and John Gibson.
He graduated from Saginaw Public Schools and later went on to pursuit a landscaping business partnership. Marvin met and married Mekie Franklin in 1985. And to this union, two children were born.
Marvin has always been a very loving and caring person who touched the lives of others through his wisdom, creativity, sense of humor and beautiful personality. Marvin’s care for others was displayed through his passion for landscaping where he yielded a great level of service to those less fortunate.
He is survived by his mother, Bettie S. Landrum; father, John Gibson, daughter, LaKevie Lindsay; son Marvin Lindsay, Jr.; devoted life-long companion Angela Abington; four sisters Violet (Spencer) Gardner, Grace (James) Hudson, Marlene (Michael) Strong, and Meka (Dwayne) Layfield; four grandchildren; Shakur, Aleya, Taylor, Malia and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois. Marvin was preceded in death by his brothers Velma Lee and Frank Lindsay.
