Mary Evelyn King Shultz

Mary Evelyn King-Shultz was born at her family’s farmhouse in Cordell, Oklahoma on May 11, 1939, and passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 85. Mary was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Mary was a devoted homemaker and later transitioned to a successful career as a payroll manager at the Imperial Palace, where she worked for over 20 years. Her kindness and intelligence were evident both in her professional and personal life.

Outside of her professional life, Mary was an avid seamstress, known for her beautiful alterations for weddings, as well as her love of quilting and crocheting. Mary's commitment to her faith was evident in her kindness and the love she spread to those around her. Mary’s presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her warmth and kindness.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Susan (Doug) Schmitz of Las Vegas, NV; Vicki (Jeff) Bierstedt of Overton, NV; and Debbie (John) Winterfeld of Valparaiso, NE. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren--Nick (Shannon) Rapp, Taryn (Jestin) Waters, Nicole Talbot, Ronny (Ashley) Wheeler, Becky Winterfeld, Doneé Talbot, and Johnny Winterfeld, as well as her 15 greatgrandchildren--Kodi Rapp, Jordyn Talbot, Kayson Talbot, Colt Talbot, Gabby Winterfeld, Blayke Waters, Kashton Rapp, Tayven Waters, JP Winterfeld, Camryn Wheeler, Reed Talbot, Joel Winterfeld, Jack Winterfeld, Brex Waters and Raelynn Wheeler. She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law, Floyd Spiva and Gerald Shultz.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Vester Shultz, her parents, Sherman and Golda King, her siblings, Wayne and Carolyn King, grandchildren, Renee Rapp, Shaun Talbot and Jace Talbot and great grandchildren Haylee Waters, and Jakob Rapp.

Services to honor Mary's life will be held at Palm Mortuary, 6701 No. Jones, Las Vegas, Nevada. A Celebration of Life Brunch will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, August 23rd, followed by the interment at 1:00 pm.
