

Matthew WIlliam Munro, 46, of Las Vegas, passed away on January 4, 2023. He was born in Buffalo, New York to Neil and Kate Munro of East Aurora. Matt was married to Leona Munro and has three younger brothers David Munro of Las Vegas, John Munro of Buffalo, and Aaron Munro of Salt Lake City.
Matt was raised in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York. As a young man he served a mission, serving the people of Birmingham, Alabama and the surrounding areas for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He traveled west to Utah for undergraduate school and later returned to New York for graduate school where he received his Masters in Business Administration from Canisius College. He returned to the West Coast, settling in Las Vegas after graduation to begin his career in real estate and construction project management where he excelled and advanced his career quickly. His most recent position was working as the National Director of Property Operations for the largest single family real estate investment trust in the United States, comprising 100K units spread across the country.
Matt was an avid DeadHead, who started following the Grateful Dead in his teens, and his love for their music was shared by his wife. He and Leona spent summers traveling the country seeing Dead and Company concerts. When he wasn't enjoying live music, he could be found at the beach or in the pool. He was a great skier and some of his favorite moments were shared with his kids on the slopes. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, and his three pit bulls- Samson, Jack, and Casey.
He is survived by his wife Leona, his daughter Madison Johnson and her husband, Eli, his sons Ryan, Gavin, and Caden Munro and his two step sons Jebediah and Griffin Jurinek.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Palm Mortuary at 1600 S Jones Blvd as follows: Viewing- Friday, January, 13th from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral service- Saturday, January 14th at 9am.
