During the nine years that we've rented our home from him, we found Maurice to be an honest, caring property owner who responded quickly to any problems and, more importantly, showed a genuine concern that we felt secure and comfortable in â€œourâ€ home.  We are greatly saddened for you and your family at your loss.
Maurice was also very easy to talk with, and I enjoyed the times that he would stop by to see if we needed anything and end up staying for a little while to chat.  At the time of one of these visits this past year he revealed his illness to me.   I remember feeling sad and frightened for him, and although obviously struggling under the weight of its physical and emotional effects, Maurice spoke optimistically of his prognosis as well as the confidence he had in the treatment he was receiving from his medical team.  I admire the strength and courage that took as well as how his positive attitude helped alleviate some of my sadness.  But I can't help but to think that this was his intention!
It was during one of his final chats with me that Maurice reflected a little on his life, and I could see the twinkling of his eyes as he spoke humbly and in general terms of his accomplishments, but I was most impressed and touched hearing the modest pride in his voice as Maurice shared with me that the accomplishment most dear to his heart was knowing that his wife and family would always be taken care of.  Hearing him say this reminded me of the support and kind words Maurice had had for me when I nearly lost my father to a stroke this past year, as well as the times we had chatted, however briefly, about family and its importance in our lives.  Obviously, he loved his family greatly.
Please know and be comforted that Bernadette and I will always feel grateful and blessed for having known Maurice; we will surely miss him.

Maurice Anthony McGrath

Maurie was a Gentlement's Gentlemen.  King of cell phones, prince of Apple Computers.  I remember one Christmas Maurie came to the office and asked me to come into his office.  He had the latest cell phone, camera.  I asked him how long he had to wait in line.  He laughed and looked at me with that Maurie grin and said, I didn't but Donald got up and left the house before 5: a.m. Maurie was so proud.  Two reasons one that Donald want at the hour and second to show me the newest pictures of his pride and joy.  His beautiful wife Luana that he so affectionately nicknamed 'Sugar'. Maurie showed me pictures of the gardens and olive trees in Italy.  Maurie worked hard to leave the legacy that has left for Luana, Donald, Saundra, Dimitri, Roman, Mikayla, Jesse and Sofia. Maurie told me Caron, Luana and I will take you sometime to Italy.  We always thought we had time.

Our Hearts are broken, but Maurie would not want us to remember him with tears, he would want us to remember his with a smile on our face and joy in our souls.  All of us are richer for knowing Maurie.  No mattter what he was doing he always took time to say hi, offer a helping hand, advice or lend an ear.  It is within all of us to honor Maurie by doing the same thing.  We are all busy, but a little kindness, a smile does the sould good.  Maure's true calling was, he was always able to turn a negative into a positive.  A strategy out of his play book that never failed.

Maurie it is time for you to rest, you fought the fight for all of us.  We will carry on as you would want us to do, Soar be an Angel among angels, shine with the stars.  You have earned the rest, enjoy until we meet again.  Sleep well my friend.  Love and Hugs Caron

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To our dear Luana and family,

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.  We grieve the loss like we are part of the family.  We could not find the right words to express our grief when we found out Maurie was not feeling well. It is also a great loss for us and the whole Hampton Court family.  Maurie knew how much he is appreciated and how much he is liked and respected by the employees and residents.

Maurie is a great person as he did see not only the big projects but also the smallest job at Hampton Court.  He was very kind assisting both the workers and residents.  Lots of good and happy memories will be treasured forever.

Maurie left a legacy compared to a high mountain curved into a developed community.  His mind was like an electric mirror who saw every angle and details of fantastic creativity.  Thank you Lord for the time you gave us to be with this special person and enjoy seeing the gorgeous houses and projects he built.

Lord as we walk without Maurice, let us have the strenght to carry on.  Let us remember that You called Maurie to Your Kingdom that he may have eternal rest. For those who love him and will miss him please grant them hope that someday they may meet Maurie in Paradise with a smile in his face.
