Melodie was born in Long Beach California to Ira and Laverne Joiner. She graduated from Millikan H.S. in Long Beach California. She moved to Las Vegas in 1976. She was an amazing, gentle soul. She loved spending time with family and friends, craft shows and sewing, and loved animals. She is survived by her husband William Whitley, Son Corey Zollin, Daughter Shannon Shelton, Daughter in law Amber Zollin, Grand children Elizabeth, Daven, Andrew, Haylee, Jayden, and Ireland, Great grandchildren Cloe, Harper, Averly, and Rory.
A memorial service will be held at Palm Mortuary - Downtown, located at 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV, 89101, on January 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
