Michael R Minear

Mike graduated from Simi Valley High School in 1978. He played football for Simi High. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the US Marine Corp.

He was proud to be part of the few, Mike received honorable conduct acknowledgement and was promoted to the rank of Sargent prior to receiving his honorable Discharge.

His service to his Country always made him proud and the distinction of being Veteran made him light up.

Mike returned to Denver Colorado after his honorable discharge from the Marines,where his employment talents were quickly noticed by American Airlines, however this opportunity was short lived because he refused to shave his beard. He was a man who stood up for what he believed in and he never looked back.

Mike loved his family and they loved him! He lived with his sister Theresa when he moved to Las Vegas 17 years ago. He also loved chocolate cake and loved his sisters cooking and baking. He loved nice trucks and always appreciated riding in one. Mike was a special person a gentle giant with a great sense of humor.

Mike was beloved and only son of his Father Army Veteran Max R Minear, step mother Francis E. Minear and his mother Mary Jo Harkins. Brother to Theresa Lynn Cawthorn and Elizabeth Anne Ruiz Husband Rupert Ruiz. Uncle to Elizabeth’s children Jared Joseph Brinkley and wife Kristen Ann Brinkley, Jessica Rae Brinkley and Great Uncle to Scarlett Elizabeth Brinkley and Rhett James Brinkley, Step Brother Doug Russell and Step Sister Christine Kardell and their family.
