

Milton Raymond Butler was born in Detroit, Michigan to Columbus and Mildred Butler who both preceded him in death. On November 15, 1936, the world was blessed by his birth. He was the second of eight children. His siblings, Bobby, Tommy, Billy, Norma (Liz), Judy and Sharon, all preceded him in death.
Milton was a military veteran, having served in the United States Air Force with tours of duty in the Philippines, France and Germany. After his honorary discharge from the Air Force, he returned to Detroit, Michigan where he worked in Real Estate as a contractor. He relocated to Southern California where he met the love of his life, Joan. On April 7, 1972, Milton and Joan married and had a loving and devoted marriage for forty-eight years. They had five sons: three sons preceded them in death: Thomas R. Butler, Darrell K. Butler and Eric A. Butler. They were loving and devoted parents and grandparents and great grandparents.
Milton and Joan were entrepreneurs in their own right. They founded and established Deliverance Christian Church in Pasadena, California. In 1986, they founded and established Little Lambs Christian Child Care Center in Pasadena, California, and a restaurant called Beans BBQ located in Altadena, California. Milton was a true visionary.
Dr. Butler served as Senior Pastor of Deliverance Christian Church until 2010. He then served as Pastor Emeritus upon his semi-retirement and relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada. They united with different ministries in the Las Vegas area always looking for ways to help other ministries in any way. Dr. Butler also had a prison ministry in the Los Angeles area where he helped to rehabilitate the incarcerated.
Milton Butler was called to the ministry while attending a Sunday Church Service at Chapel Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He heard the voice of the Lord telling him that it was the last time HE was calling him to the ministry. During that service, he gave his life to the Lord. He studied under ministries at Chapel Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Church of Altadena and various other ministries. He proceeded to earn his Doctorate in Divinity at Puritan State University, Los Angeles, California, thus becoming, Dr. Milton Butler.
Dr. Butler had a huge heart, always giving, making sure children were fed and meeting the needs of others. In his spare time, he loved to play golf!
Dr. Butler leaves cherished memories with so many people who love him dearly: His sons, Milton R. Butler, Jr. of Eagle Rock, California, Rodney J. Butler of Detroit, Michigan; one sister Geri (Charles) of Las Vegas, Nevada; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
