Philip Lee, 79, of Las Vegas, passed away March 24, 2011. Born in China, Dec. 17, 1931, he arrived in the U.S., and was naturalized in Las Vegas by 1948. He began at the Stardust Resort & Casino Jan. 22, 1960, working in the kitchens of Aku Aku, William B's Steakhouse and Coco Palm's Buffet; celebrating 45 years with Culinary Union Local 226. He was recognized as the longest-serving employee for his 47 years with Boyd Gaming in 2007, before Stardust's closing. He retired and spent time with his children, while also seeing friends at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. Philip is survived by his children, Richard, David, and Angela. Public services will be at noon Saturday, April 2, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
