Phyllis J. Cotter, 86 of Las Vegas passed away Feb. 21, 2015. She was born June 5, 1928 in Harlowton, Montana to John and Eliza Bartlett. She grew up in Harlowton, went on to college and worked as an x-ray technician. In 1952 she married the love of her life, James (Jim) Burton Cotter and devoted herself to being a loving wife, homemaker and mother of three. Jim's employment as a civil engineer took the family from Montana to upstate NY, southern Idaho and finally Las Vegas, NV in 1966 where he worked for the Dept. of Energy until retirement. With children grown the couple chose to stay in Las Vegas because they loved the wild birds and animals that frequented the natural habitat of their yard. Phyllis devoted many years to genealogy research and stayed lovingly connected to family and friends all across the country. She was always young at heart, generous and kind. She will be greatly missed. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Jim in 2008. She is survived by three children, David Cotter of Las Vegas, Sue Cotter of Parowan, UT, and James Cotter of Edgewater, MD, grandson James Garrett Cotter and granddaughter Maylee Cotter both of Las Vegas, NV.
