

Raymond Hernandez, 93, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving wife, Kathy. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ray is survived by his wife of many years, Kathy; his sons, Ray Hernandez (Nelia) and Gilbert Hernandez; his daughter, Cindy Villanueva (Greg); his sister, Henrietta Macias; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray proudly served in the United States Army, enlisting at the age of 17 in 1948. He served as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division during the Occupation of Japan. Over his military career, Ray completed an impressive 52 jumps and was awarded the Parachute Badge and the Army of Occupation Medal. His service left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
After his time in the military, Ray went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Woodbury University, where he also served as president of his fraternity. Later in life, Ray worked for the City of North Las Vegas Detention Center, contributing to his community as a civilian employee.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on January 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elite Hospice in honor of the compassionate care they provided.
