Revelle Bond Taylor, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025 at the age of 84, surrounded by his loving family.
Revelle was born on August 27, 1940, in Durango, Colorado, to Golda McGee Taylor and Lloyd Bond Taylor. He was the fourth child in the family, with three older brothers: Con, Bryce Leo, and Robert. He spent his early years in Farmington, New Mexico, where his father owned a flour mill and worked in oil and gas production. Revelle fondly remembered his childhood adventures—playing in the apple orchards, riding Shetland ponies with his cousin and best friend, Myron, and helping with the family businesses.
At the age of nine, Revelle moved to Provo, Utah, but later returned to Farmington to complete his senior year of high school. It was in Farmington that he met the love of his life, Evalyn Chapman. They were married on May 17, 1958, and a year later, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Revelle pursued higher education at Brigham Young University, where he earned a degree in Accounting. He went on to have a distinguished 40-year career as a Certified Public Accountant, during which he served as president of the Nevada State Board of Accountancy and founded his own CPA firm, Piercy Bowler Taylor & Kern.
Revelle had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found happiness in boating, fishing, camping, and traveling. His cabin at Kolob Reservoir was a cherished retreat where he spent time with his family, creating lasting memories. He also loved cruising to the world’s most beautiful ports, marveling at the wonders of the earth.
Faith and service were at the heart of Revelle’s life. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served for 25 years as an ordinance worker in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple.
Revelle and Evalyn, along with their children, lived in various places across the United States before ultimately making Las Vegas their home for the past 50 years. There, they built lasting friendships and made meaningful contributions through both professional and church service.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Evalyn Chapman Taylor, and their six children: Bryce Taylor (Sheri), Mark Taylor (Susana), Scott Taylor (Terilyn), Lorne Taylor (Melanie), Trenna Branham (Daryl), and Linda Dickinson (Mike). He leaves behind a legacy of love in his 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Revelle will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic and steadfast devotion to his family and faith. His influence and example will live on in the lives of those who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service will be held on February 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 9825 W Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89117. Family and friends are invited to gather at the same location for a visitation at 9:00 a.m., prior to the service.
