Richard was known by his middle name Scott to immediate family. He was born in Arizona to Richard and Margaret Benge on November 12, 1972. He went to Valley High School in Las Vegas, NV where he played football. He married the love of his life Carrie Benge on December 24, 2001 in Chardon, OH. He was a warehouse manager for several companies, including Caesar’s Entertainment, Levi’s and Kroger. He was a veteran who served in the United States Army in the Explosive Ordnance Division. He was a member of the VFW and NRA.
Scott is preceded in death by father Richard E Benge, his mother Margaret (Marge) Povall and his stepfather William (Bill) Povall.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Carrie; his stepsons Lief Hobson and Robert Benge; his daughter Jansen from a previous marriage; his grandchildren Aria and Oliver Hobson; his sisters Angie Moore, Pam Jeffries and Trish Povall.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary on January 31, 2026 at 11:00am.
