Rita retired from MGM Grand where she worked in the pantry and retired as a member of the Culinary Union. Rita was a faithful member of Shadow Hills Baptist Church since the late 1960’s and served in many callings, one of her favorites being Helping Hands.
Rita was filled with kindness and compassion – she never met a stranger. There was a smile for everyone and sometimes a surprise hug and kiss too! God blessed her with a heart of endless love. We will miss her sense of humor, love for gardening, amazing southern cooking, and love for all God’s creation. Rita treasured her family most of all and was always quick to share with everyone she met that her family was her greatest blessing. Her children will remember her as a loving and generous mother and a doting grandmother.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Cooper; and daughter, Carolyn Thompson. She is survived by her daughters, LouAnna Martin (Jerry), and Rebecca Cooper-Neal (Robert); 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
We love you and will miss you dearly.
Services are being held at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Las Vegas, NV 89146. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6th from 12pm-2pm. Funeral service will be held November 7th at 11am. She will be buried at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
