Robert Walker Fleischmann

Robert “Bob” Walker Fleischmann, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, after a diagnosis of glioblastoma. He chose to spend his final days at Nathan Adelson Hospice, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bob was born in 1941 in Patchogue, New York, to Irene and Nicholas Fleischmann. He grew up in Patchogue, graduating from Patchogue High School and continuing his education, earning an Associate’s Degree in Accounting.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army as a combat engineer. Following his military service, he worked for the New York State Department of Transportation, where he led many construction and infrastructure projects throughout his career.

Bob shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marilyn, building a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Together they raised their children—Robert, Jerome, and Suzanne —in Moriches, New York, before retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004.

Bob was a loyal member of the Vanguard Hose Company in Patchogue, New York, and also a member of the 40 Thieves Racing Team, of which he told many stories over the years.

He found great joy in cooking, golfing, woodworking, and collecting insulators. Bob and Marilyn were also devoted members of the congregation at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, where their faith and community were an important part of their lives.

His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren grow. To them, he was simply PopPop.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, his children Robert (April), Jerome (Emily), and Suzanne (Samantha), and his cherished grandchildren Skylar, Thomas, Bella, Shafer, and Harper. He is also survived by his brother Art, his sisters-in-law Joann and Anne, and his brother-in-law Jerry (Jean).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Nicholas Fleischmann, and his brother Nick.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas. A Celebration Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church (2575 W El Campo Grande Avenue, North Las Vegas, NV 89031) on April 28 at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation prior starting at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery (1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005).
