Robert Lewis Small

A man that was known for being good, and a faithful servant of the Lord. He was kind, humble, and loved everyone. Robert Lewis Small, was born June 30, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to Robert Johnson and Eddie Lee Godfrey. He married Jacqueline M Jones on June 26, 1960 in Birmingham, Alabama. He departed this life on August 19, 2014 at 2:OOA.M.

He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy where he was rewarded for being an honor man of his squad. He worked 37years as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service Vista Station. After he retired he returned back to work at the McCarran Airport in passenger baggage claim. He was a long term member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, pitching horseshoes, bowling, reading, and fishing.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Jacqueline Small, five children; Evonne Small, Sylvia Coonce, Jeffrey Small, Karen Small, and Michael Small. Three grandchildren; Eric Coonce , Erica Coonce, and Steven Small.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and although we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
