Roland Chatman Sr., 72, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2012, in his home in Las Vegas. He was born June 1, 1940, in Detroit. A resident of Las Vegas for 36 years, he was a retired high school counselor with the Clark County School District. Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Chatman; mother, Amanda Chatman; and two brothers, Rudolf Chatman and Richard Chatman. Roland is survived by one son, Roland Chatman Jr. of Atlanta; two daughters, Raimi Hamlet of Las Vegas, and Njemile Sauda of Oakland, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Tayler Chatman and Robert Hamlet. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, July 20. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
