Ruth Marie Jordan 75 resided in Las Vegas Nevada since 1989. Ruth went to be with our Lord on October 13, 2023. She was in the care of Nathan Adelson Hospice. She had been in memory care for the last four and half years and had serious medical conditions but succumbed to recently diagnosed pulmonary hypertension.
Ruth was born in Albuquerque, NM on July 14, 1948 to Oscar Vincent Fulkerson and Betty Jean (Sheets) Fulkerson. Ruth was married to her husband of 55 years, Richard Alexander Jordan.
Ruth received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1975 and a Masters Degree in Education in 1978 from the University of New Mexico. She was a High School Chemistry teacher for 14 years in Albuquerque and then taught for another 19 years in Las Vegas. She continued taking courses during her teaching years and was studying accounting after retiring. She loved teaching and learning.
Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. For years her home was the center of holiday family gatherings and she particularly enjoyed preparing and serving holiday meals. Her favorite pastime was shopping with her daughter and granddaughters. She was an avid runner until her knees gave out and she then became a physical fitness enthusiast. Ruth loved her numerous pets over the years, in particular her last four Shih Tzus.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Richard; her son Richard Jeffery Jordan and daughter Laura Jenee Dalasta (David John). Ruth had four granddaughters; Reese Kimberly Jordan, Bryn Sophia Dalasta, Blake Olivia Dalasta, and Bexley Sienna Dalasta. Ruth is also survived by her brother, Daniel Vincent Fulkerson (Durlinda) as well as sisters Anne Elizabeth Lafon and Joan Francis Fulkerson.
Ruth had bright sparkling eyes and a big smile for everyone she met. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that you simply hug each other and reconnect with family you have lost contact with.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmsouthjones.com for the Jordan family.
