My deepest condoences to the Covelli family. Sammy was a good friend of mine. I'm fortunate that we became friends and neighbors over the last few years. My all his suffering be no more and he has ethernal life.

I'm saddened to hear of Samuel Guy-Covelli's passing. Though I didn't know him personally, his unwavering commitment to advocating for homeowners and pushing for transparency in HOA governance left a lasting impression on many.

Samuel's tenacity in challenging the Nevada Real Estate Division and his tireless efforts to shed light on issues within HOAs spoke volumes about his character. His warrior spirit in the face of what he perceived as injustice was truly admirable.

While his voice may have been silenced, the impact of his advocacy lives on. Many who heard his message were moved by his passion and dedication. His efforts have undoubtedly contributed to ongoing discussions about improving HOA oversight and protecting homeowners' rights.

May we honor Samuel's memory by continuing to strive for fairness and transparency in community governance. His legacy serves as a reminder of the power of one individual's voice in spurring change.

My heartfelt condolences to all who knew and respected Samuel. May his fighting spirit continue to inspire others.

Sam was my friend and coworker at BMW motorcycles.
We rode motorcycles together and shared dinners with family and friends.  Godspeed Brother.

Just a few pictures I wanted to add.  I miss you terribly Pop but you are no longer in any pain and your healthy again.  You said you wanted to just go to sleep and you went your way.  Your grandkids and great-grandkids and their kids.... will never forget you.   Do not worry about mom, we will take care of her and when I say we I do not just mean the kids and I, but the great friends you have.

Dear Linda and family -
It is with such sadness that I write to you and your family.   It was somewhat of a shock when your friend Linda Anderson called me the other day.  It seems we all grew up together here in Carson, then there was the bunch of us that congregated over at the Stenovich house around the corner from where I grew up.  Chan, Sam, Paul, Joe and others were always over there.  The guys playing their music, etc.  Such fun we all had, and Sammy was always kind of in the middle of things.  His smile, his laugh.  He was truly a gift of a friend.
So sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers.   He will be missed.

Thats Sam on the far left, keeping a careful eye on all of us in the ELVIN BISHOP BAND on the road almost 50 years ago. He always took great care of us and always had our backs….will never forget him as we kept in touch until the end…..RIP SAMMY.

"Probably 1969, we were part of a blocking force a few kliks south of Saigon right on HWY #1 leading into the Mekong Delta. We got a shit load of incoming everything but the kitchen sink the day and night before this photo was taken. The fellow on the left is Robert Gammon of Florida and yours truly on the right. We were not smiling for obvious reasons. Recall it as being the second TET offensive". From his pal Dave K Mathews

I have not had the heart to look through my pictures of my brother Sammy, but will add some. He was my big brother. Growing up separately, for the most part through no fault of our own and being five years older, he was always my hero.  When he was in Vietnam,  I carried his picture to middle school. He picked me up once on his motorcycle, and though I left a layer of skin on the hot exhaust pipe,  he never knew that I wanted to keep riding with him the rest of my life.  Polar opposites in almost every idealogy, we'd be viewed as the battling Covellis. "I love you, shut up" is the Italian mantra. I love you Sam, and I wish you hadn't shut up, yet.  Linda, my deep condolences to you. You are his angel by the light house.

In the early 70s, Sam and I were "road dogs" for Elvin Bishop and making a "Forced March" in our Kenworth bobtail truck. 
Sam and I were doing a team drive from Gunnison, Colorado to Seattle Washington.  He was driving and I was in the sleeper.  Suddenly there was a violent shaking and I dove for the right side window.  The shaking stopped and I turned and asked Sam, "What the Hell was THAT about?  He said, "Uh, we just lost a wheel!"  It was the front left and it was smoking in the ditch on the left side of the road.  I hopped out, walked around the front of the truck and looked at Sam face to face!  Apparently a wheel bearing had frozen and lost its lube.  (Gunnison is REALLY freaking cold in the winter!)  Anyway, we called for help on the CB radio, put "Marshall Tucker" in the cassette player and rolled a "fatty".  The sun was just coming up, and the area around us looked like the same territory that Robert Redford released the horse in the movie "The Horse Wisperer".  About 4 hours later a 1949 tow truck hauled us to a 24 hour Kenworth dealer/service shop.  We had gotten in touch with the tour manager, (Al Pins) and told him to be ready to wire the repair bill payment.   About 2 hours later we were back on the road.  Al had set the showtime back due to the breakdown.  Sam and I got to the gig at the advertised showtime, (don't ask for the logbook!) so the show wasn't too late in starting. 
"A good time was had by all!"
Rest in Peace my brother, I'll ride with you again.

From Cami, Sam’s daughter… “Pop loved light houses and it is beautiful and serene.  It was hard carrying him, I even seat belted him in with me.  But he is home at least until he floats away into the ocean where his mother and brother were placed.  I miss him but I keep up my mind for mom. “

I was fortunate enough to be friends with Sam for the last seven or so years . The little bit I learned made me realize how much he had lived in his lifetime . A Vietnam vet , a road manager for a major music act , a BMW motorcycle rep , a higher ranking correctional officer and I couldn't imagine what else .
Sam had to give up riding the large BMW motorcycles that he and his beloved wife Linda had logged many thousands of miles touring on . He bought a 125cc Honda Monkey motorcycle that he loved to ride .
We would go on rides to some scenic roads and Sam would leave me, on a much bigger bike , in the dust in the corners . Turns out he had taken racing classes at some of the speedways in California ! It showed . He would get tickled if he hit 60mph and credit a strong tail wind a his spanking the back of the Monkeys seat .
He spoke often of his beloved wife Linda and his many friends in Northern Nevada .
He was truly a man of honor and integrity . I will miss his humor and friendship . Thank you , Sam

I always looked forward to our meals. Sam had a million stories, never told the same one twice, and in the rare event he did, the story did not change. My wife said I was always so happy when I came home from “boys night out”😃👍🏽🎶
