Sarah D Crockrom was born June 8, 1929 in Jackson Mississippi to the late Samuel Douglas and Maggie Evelina Banks. She was the third child born to this union. She was raised by her late grandmother Sadie Banks. Sarah D. Crockrom, passed away February 10, 2020 at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada., at the golden age of 90.
Sarah moved to Las Vegas along with her family in 1960, where she found employment at the Frontier hotel thereafter moving to the Union Plaza where she worked as a housekeeper and an inspector for many years. She was a proud member of Culinary Union Local 226. Sarah. Later she left her job to go into a partnership with her husband, owning Big Daddy Kitchen and Restaurant.
Sarah was united in holy matrimony to Wilbert Crockrom Sr. in September of 1946. From that union they had 7 children, that she leaves to cherish her memories: Dorothy Major, Barbara Crockrom, Wilbert Crockrom Jr, Sarah Bolden, Linda Faye Hunt, Thomas Crockrom Sr., and Kevin Crockrom Sr. all of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sarah had a great love for her family; she was a proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother. She also had a special bond with her cousins Virginia Tumbling, Bill Tumbling, and Ida Mae Crockrom. In addition, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends to cherish her fond memories.
Preceded Sarah in death were her parents, Samuel Douglas, Maggie E. Banks, Grandmother Sadie Banks, and her loving husband Wilbert Crockrom Sr. Her two brothers Eddie Lee Gates and Garlin Hart.
