Scott Edward Ross

Scott Edward Ross was born on August 4th, 1952 to his mother, Freda Ruth Alexander Ross, and father, Scott James Ross. Scott was the eldest of 10 children, Shelia Ross of Patterson, NJ, Lynda N. Alexander, Emma Jean Ross-Walker, John Ross, all of Burlington, NC, Marcia Price of Dover, DE, Mark Steven Ross, Robert L. Ross, Oliver Terry Ross (LaVerne) and Freda Eileen Ross Clinard, all of Burlington, NC. It was apparent that they all looked up to him and cherished their big brother.

Scott went on to serve in the military, he joined the Army at the age of 19 and served for 3 years. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After the Army, Scott joined the United States Postal Service for several years. Deciding to continue to serve his community, Scott later joined the Patterson Police Department. One of his most heroic moments was when he rescued children from a burning building..showcasing his selflessness and determination to save others.

Scott was adored and respected by his fellow men and women on the force. Scott was a highly decorated officer, earning many achievements during his years with the Patterson Police Force of New Jersey.

Through his actions, his character was shown and earned him the position of Detective with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

In his spare time, Scott loved to ride. He was a Harley enthusiast. Once Scott retired, he enjoyed riding his bike with Roberta, his life partner and love of his life, whom he always called, Sweetie. Scott and Roberta would ride around Las Vegas and surrounding States, enjoy shows on the Vegas strip, and the occasional casino night.

Truly living the dream.

Scott and Roberta enjoyed the last 28 years together, having had the privilege to find true love and happiness.

Scott E. Ross was predeceased by: Freda Ruth Alexander Ross (Mother), Scott James Ross (Father), and Mark Steven Ross (Brother).

Scott will be remembered by his life partner, the love of his life, Roberta, Roberta’s grandchildren, who considered him a grandfather, his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and all the family and friends he’s gained throughout his years.

Scott Edward Ross, affectionately known as “Pookie” to his siblings and immediate family, will forever be missed.
