Shirley B. Goodman "The Great Mom"

Shirley Bernice Goodman, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on 22 December 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shirley was born on 14 September 1935, in San Bernardino, CA, to Elmer and Bernice Motschman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Fred, and children Scott Elmer and Lisa Bernice. Survived by her husband of 56 years is Robert M. Goodman and her sister Patricia (Fryer), as well as her children Tom (Melinda), Bob (Sharon), Connie Graham (Kelly), Pam Renner, and Kelly (Stephanie). Shirley has 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She attended Brigham Young University, where she met the love of her life and husband, Robert. Affectionately known by her family as “The Great Mom,” she was beloved by all for her selfless service to family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and family history, all the while serving as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she fulfilled many callings over the course of her lifetime. A memorial Service will be held Saturday, 29 December 2012, at 2:00 PM at the LDS chapel located at 8801 W. Alexander, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A separate service will be held in Richmond, VA, on 3 January 2013, at 11:00 AM at the LDS chapel located at 5600 Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA 23226.
