

Sid was born on January 2, 1931 at home by a midwife in Tubao, La Union, Philippines. He was the son of Isidro B. Lopez and Mercedes E. Santillan. Sid grew up with one adopted sibling. a younger adopted brother, Johnny. Sid graduated from Tarlac High School in 1948. He graduated first honor in his class. He earned his Pre-Medical degree and Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of Santo Thomas. He also pursued graduate school, earning his Doctor of Internal Medicine degree from Far Eastern University as First Graduates of the University. When he took the Medical Board Exam he had the tenth highest score throughout all the Philippines. On February 14, 1964, Sid exchanged wedding vows with Shirley Martinez. They had seven children, five daughters, Leah, Leilani, Bernadette, Nanette, and Perlita, and two sons, Joseph and Robert. Sid did his very best to show his children how much he loved them. When Sid's retirement came in 1998, he found new pleasure in having more time to relax, reading, spending time with his wife, Shirley and enjoying his grandchildren, Cameron and Sydney. Sid S. Lopez passed away on April 14, 2013 at his daughter Leah's home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sid fought a brave battle against lung cancer. He is survived by his wife Shirley, his daughters Leah, Leilani, Bernadette, Nanette and Perlita, his sons Joseph and Robert and his grandchildren Cameron, Sydney, Jullian, Patrick Daniel, Cheryl Ann, Michael, Joanne, Melissa, Grace, RJ, Steven, Jorel, Ethan and Hunter. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary. Sid was laid to rest in the Garden of Memories at Palm Northwest Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
