Sophia Mae Jones

In her early 20s she met dad and they were married June 15, 1962.

Since dad served in the military, they were stationed at several different bases throughout the world. One of mom's favorite places was Spain! Throughout their travels mom met many wonderful people that became lifelong friends.

Several years later they decided to start a family and were blessed with two children: Karen and David. In 1973 we were transferred to Nellis AFB and it was here we established our home.

Mom found employment at the commissary and worked for about 30 years. Her position was demanding at times, however the people she worked with and the many customers she encountered made it all worthwhile. She retired as a well loved and respected manager!

A few years after retirement, she decided to rejoin the workforce and spent 3 years at Metropolitan Police Department as an evidence technician.

Our mom was a strong woman, a supporter of family and the protector of her children. She loved soap operas, silly commercials and talking daily with her brother – Uncle Pete and her late sisters Aunt Ruby and Aunt Susie .

She raised us well. We love you mom!
