Steven Joseph Morelli

Steven was born on April 9, 1961 to Louis and Helen Morelli in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Helen Morelli.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 18 years Christine Scobie who stood by his side as a true partner in life, and her children, Jeffrey James Scobie and Jennifer Nicole Scobie. Steve was a kind and loving partner and best friend to Chris. He was a great father figure and provider to Jeffrey and Jenny as he always put family first.

Steve was a loving brother to Mary Catherine (Tony) Bonser, Michael Raymond (Karen) Morelli and Theresa Ann Morelli. He was a cherished uncle to Marie Cottrell, Sarah Biersteker, and Michael Morelli

Steve loved taking long walks with Chris at Floyd Lamb Park and feeding the bunnies.

He also enjoyed seafood Friday buffets, playing Keno and visiting close friends at the Aliante Hotel Casino. He loved to barbecue and was good at it. Steve was an avid fisherman and taught others like his brother Mike and brother-in-law Tony. He loved watching true crime show investigations.

Steve had an incredible sense of humor and a knack for surprising his loved ones. His life was filled with countless acts of kindness, always delivered with his signature humor, he truly brightened the lives of everyone around. He was the first to offer help to neighbors and friends with car repairs and or household repairs of any kind. His advice, sometimes frank, would include his great sense of humor.

Steve placed a high value on service to community. He became a Correction Deputy Sheriff in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was held in high regard by his department leaders and quickly advanced. He never lost his love of Cincinnati and the people he served with.

He also loved following Reds baseball, and eating White Castle sliders, UDF malts, and Skyline Chili.

He visited Las Vegas on vacation and was impressed with the community. He was particularly impressed with the leadership and integrity of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and joined their team. Steve was a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Corrections Officer Il from January 31, 2001 until July 8, 2011 when he retired. Steve worked hard to uphold the reputation of the Metro Police Department and became a leading marksman earning several awards.

Steve also owned an Auto Dealership, "Morelli's Auto" and proved it was possible to provide an honest deal and have a successful business.

Steve was a good man. He made a positive impact on so many people. His help, wit, advice and love will be missed.

A visitation for Steven will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, followed by a funeral service at 7:30 PM.
