The Life of Tanya Haider (Reigle)
My mom Tanya was born February 20th 1959 in Washington state, to John and Garnet Haider.
Tanya was born the 3rd child after her brothers Mike and Garret. From the stories I was told, Tanya
had a good childhood and learned the value of work early in life. Tanya began her first jobs from 1975-
1977 at the Childrens Corner, Sears, and the Bon, getting what hours she could. From about 1977-
1991 Tanya worked for her dads dealership, Rainier Beach Cars, Renton RV parts / Sales and even
started a ceramics business.
During that time period Tanya met my Dad Guy Granger and I was born in 1986. I have very early
memories of my mom and I, we went everywhere together. She was COOL..! Mom always had
something interesting and fun going on. Tanya loved motorcycles, Classic cars, RVs and could even
work on them all well. So between those hobbies and fishing we were always busy. My mom was the
sweetest, nicest, quiet and most generously giving person I ever known. Tanya could have a temper
like a lion at times. I remember my mom beating up the high school neighbor kid that stuffed me in a
garbage dumpster when I was 5.. Protective as well I guess.
Not long after my parents split ways, and my mom met Joe Reigle. Joe was an interesting character,
with a lot of energy. Early on I didn’t like the situation much, but I ended up thanking them both later
in life for the lessons my mom and Joe taught me. Tanya and Joe decided to move to Oregon and
start new business with Coos Bay homes. They sold manufactured homes to people and started a
small subdivision for customers that needed a home but had no land. This was a very educational
time for me. What I observed taught me business skills and how to sell.
When they moved to Oregon, this allowed us only weekends or summer break to hang out. But when
we did, we would ride our quads and motorcycles together at all of the different coastal dunes in
Oregon. My mom and Joe also were very generous and took me to several Hawaiian Islands over the
years. Few years later mom and Joe moved to Brownsville Oregon and started the Eugene Super
Sales center, where they did the same thing, selling homes and built a nicer subdivision.
About 2000-2001 My mom and Joe decided to move again. This time they wanted to continue doing
sales but travel more. They went all around the United Stated and liquidated furniture stores, which
they were very successful at. My mom and Joe invited me to help them at a couple sales over the
years. I remember the first time mom and Joe let me sell with them on the floor. I did $80,000 my first
month and I still could never keep up with my moms sales. My mom Tanya, by profession WAS a
master sales person. Calm, Collected, never pushy, Full of knowledge and just helped people in their
buying decisions.
After my mom and Joe had traveled most of the United States doing this, They found Lake Havasu
City Arizona, some time around 2015. They loved it there, and it seemed like they were settling down.
They bought a boat and fished on the lake most of the time. But I think it was just too hot for them
there, and that is probably how they ended up in Las Vegas. Shortly after they moved to Las Vegas
Joe started getting strange illness. My mom volunteered at the senior center and took care of Joe full
time. About the time covid became first known, Joe had so many complications that Tanya could no
longer care for him properly and she was forced to take him into a hospital. At that point Covid hit the
area hard, and my mom was sealed off from being able to visit Joe. Joe passed away in the hospital
and it devastated my mom.. My mom Tanya declined shortly after and ended up in a cycle of
hospitalizations and care facilities. On Christmas Day 2023, I got a call from her care facility that my
mom had been transferred to the ICU, and that they found her unresponsive.
My wife and I were blessed to spend the last 10 days of my moms life, visiting her at the bedside. She
fought hard and had made it off of life support and was breathing well on her own. We would
communicate by asking yes and no questions, and my mom would blink here eyes once for yes and
twice for no. We brought my mom Christmas presents, cards, candies that she enjoyed tasting, a
teddy bear and a very large gold chain bearing a Jesus pendant. My mom fought hard to squeeze out
teddy bear and a very large gold chain bearing a Jesus pendant. My mom fought hard to squeeze out
that she loved us too on her good days. Mom smiled a lot each day, and had a happy bright soul. My
wife and I brushed my moms hair, and we put it up into one short sprout on top of her head. My mom
went to sleep holding her bear and looked good, so we thought we would come back in the morning.
But my mom did not wake up again. My mom went home with the Lord for certain, we had many
signs.
My mom was my favorite person in the entire world. A fine example of a human that this planet needs
more of. I Pray that you are able to rest in comfort now mom.
I Love you
Joey
