

Teh-Hsiu Chuang, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 26 at the Solari Hospice, in Las Vegas NV, near his home of 10 years. Teh-Hsiu was born in 1927, near the city of Tsingtao within Shangdong Province, China. He attended National Taiwan University- a world top-100 ranked university, and was appointed the head of the U.S. Branch of Taiwan Sugar Corporation in the late-60s. He worked in the World Trade Center in NYC until retirement in 1998, and enjoyed all the amenities of the city, particularly the restaurants in Chinatown. In 2001, he and wife, Grace, moved from East Brunswick NJ to Las Vegas for the warmer climate. He was not a gambler for the casinos, but was an astute stock investor and recorded returns over the last decade that any professional money manager would envy. Teh-Hsiu was vibrant and sharp-minded until near the very end. He will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 53 years, Grace; his devoted children, daughter Janet Sung and husband Alan of Hopkinton, MA, son Richard Chuang of San Jose CA, and son Edward Chuang and wife Jessica of San Ramon CA; his loving sisters Julia Chang of Brookline MA and Jeanne Chang of Carlsbad CA; and treasured grandchildren Julie and Amy Sung (ages 22 and 19) and Sophia Elisabeth Chuang (17 days). A funeral service was held on Friday Dec. 30 at noon at Palm Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Blvd. Las Vegas NV.
