It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Guarnaccia, age 92, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and formerly of Downers Grove, Illinois, who left us on January 24, 2025. Surrounded by love at the Veterans Memorial Home in Boulder City, Nevada, Tony's warmth and spirit illuminated the lives of all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
Born to Antonio and Bruna Guarnaccia, Tony grew up in a family that cherished music and strong family ties. A talented trumpet player, he served proudly in the Special Armed Forces Military Ensemble during the Korean War, where his passion for music blossomed and had an enduring impact on those around him. Tony's deep love for jazz and his dedication to his craft resonated through every note he played, creating unforgettable memories for both the audiences who enjoyed his performances and his fellow musicians.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Nadine Singel, son-in-law, Marcus Singel, and brother John Guarnaccia. His legacy continues through her, as well as through cherished friends, family and countless members of the community who were touched by his kindness and unwavering spirit.
He is reunited in spirit with those he loved who have passed before him, including his dear sisters, Mary Randall, Antoinette Kotlin, and Pauline Forster, and his brother, Joseph Guarnaccia. Their memories live on in the stories, laughter, and music they shared.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Veterans Association, supporting those who served bravely as he did.
Rest in peace, dear Tony. Your music will play on in our hearts forever.
