Troy Lynn Simmons, 48, passed away suddenly on May 1, 2014. Troy was born January 25, 1966 to Charlene and Lynn Simmons in St George, UT. Troy had an infectious smile and a huge heart. He served an LDS mission to England. In 1990, he met Eric Peterson who became his life partner; and together they operated Northern Lights, and were just finishing up creating their dream backyard. Troy loved to travel and had the great pleasure to cruise the world several times. In 2012, Troy started working for Habitat for Humanity as the Director of the ReStore. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He loved to be in the kitchen or grilling on the Bar-B-Q. Anything with mushrooms, cheese, or bacon was always a treat and his friends were always the guinea pigs for his creations. He loved when his family would come over to swim, eat, and reminisce about growing up in the Simmons household. Troy was preceded in death by his mother Charlene. Troy is survived by his husband and best friend of 24 years, Eric Peterson, and their loving dogs Abbey, Sophie, and Charlie. He is also survived by his Father Lynn (Linda); and 6 siblings: Tiffany Lewis (John), Tracie Himes (Tony), Ruth Ann Horsley (Ray), Trent (Jenna), Ashleigh Gallagher (Rhett), Coltyn, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Graveside services will be Thursday, May 8th at 11 am at the Logandale NV cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 9th at 11am at Palm Mortuary (1600 S. Jones Blvd. Las Vegas). In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Troy's name to Habitat for Humanity - Las Vegas, or Nathan Adelson Hospice.
