I am so sorry to hear this ! I clearly remember her taking us to WJAC TV station in Johnstown to turn in money we collected for MDS and we stopped for ice cream in Ebensberg. My deepest sympathy.

Ruth was like a second mother growing up.  Always giving...whether it was food, drink, rides or time.  She and Jack always made everyone feel welcome in their home.  I treasure the memories I have of the times enjoyed in Westover.  Al, Cindy and Nannette all my sympathy and prayers for your loss.

I don't even know where to begin when speaking about this lady.   I can remember so many great times, sitting around her kitchen table, laughing like fools.  There was NEVER a dull moment.   Ruth gave "sound" advise on everything.   She would warn about wild men like my future brother in law (ha ha ha).  He would always say, "Well, we'll be good!" He would draw it out as he walked out of the room and Ruth would make faces behind his back. She truly was our "Dear Abby" and I am sure that Theresa, Mandie, Deb, me and the list goes on can remember all the advise she shared on how to handle the boys in this world.  I remember Zip being scared to death of her.   So funny.   She wouldn't hurt a flea.   Since I had moved somewhat far away from my family, Ruth took over the role of the mother figure.   She cooked for us, she kept track of us, she cared about us, she loved us.   Thank you, Ruth, from the bottom of my heart for letting me be a part of your life.   Anyone who had the honor of knowing you, is a better person because of it.

We treasure the good times we had with Mom oh how we loved playing Cinch with her and Dad so much it was one of our favorite things we did together!  And every Sunday she had us for dinner, the best fried chicken in the oven, always had 2 meats never just one!  She made the best homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, pies, Al loved her coconut cream pie the best ever, she tried her best to teach me how to make her homemade bread, side by side, step by step, but it just never raised right for me, but we had fun doing it together.  She would never let Al or I drive, and rarely when she did, she would sway around, used the brake that she did not have  it was funny and always made me laugh!  Always loved so much and forever in our heart.  Love you Mom, Love, Al and Sus

I will always remember coming to the house with the kids, when we would go in your room you would get the biggest smile on your face. Your an amazing person with a heart of gold. We love you Grams!!!

She sounds like an Amazing Women how lucky you were to have her as a Mother , love And hugs Nannette.....

Sood has such fun memories of her.  All of their late night card games.  I am glad that he was so lucky to have such a GREAT and FUN women for his grandma.  We all send our love and prayers.

Ruth was like a magnet for the teens in Westover, PA. She welcomed us into her home any time of the day or night. She was an attentive listener of our problems but also made it THE  IN PLACE to visit. She fed us, she made us laugh, she gave advice  & gave you ice cream all at once. Ruth loved her children & loved sharing their stories especially their accomplishments. There were always kids & animals & when John would come home he would just sit back & watched the fun.  She had a beautiful home & was even great at that. You could tell she lived for her family & lived to enjoy life.  Thank You Ruth for many fun memories of you & being at your beautiful home.

Debbie and Frank Beasley  you were a wounderful host to us we will never forget kindiness....

Virginia and I spent many a day together at the S Las Vegas Blvd house and barn. I would work the 4 horses and she would sit on the porch or beside the arena and chat! Always had that little black and white 'mop dog' at her feet.

It was a true pleasure to have the opportunity to get to know her and my memories of our time in Vienna, VA are filled with moments with her and her family. She was a wonderfully warm hearted and fun filled soul. I know she will be missed by all who knew and loved her xx

What a delight it was knowing her.  Such a amazing person, friend and neighbor.  Loved visiting her the times I came to town. Always had a great time playing Yahtzee with her even though she beat us all the time. She had such a love for her dogs.  Deyon's Brandy even jumped ship to go live with her!
