Wayne F. Stewart

Wayne Stewart, 89, of Las Vegas, passed away on October 7, 2014. He was born to J.L.. Stewart and Aurella Frandsen in Buhl, Idaho. He attended college at the University of Idaho and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work and education. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served honorably in WWII. He married the love of his life, Carol Georges, on June 29, 1957. They had two children; Mark and Carol Ann. He was a coach and teacher for many years in Burley, Idaho, and at Brinley Jr. High School in Las Vegas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his son, Mark (Elise) Stewart, his daughter Carol Ann (Alexander) Skerlich, his brother-in-law Darel (Lynn) Georges, his three grandchildren; Augustus, Gabriel, and Alexander, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday October 15, 2014 at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church 3046 Alta Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89107. A private burial will follow at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Mortuary-S. Jones 1600 S. Jones Blvd Las Vegas, Nevada 89146
