

Wendell H. Phillips Jr., 75, passed away May 9, 2023 surrounded by family. Wendell was born January 21, 1948 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Wendell H. Phillips Sr. And Dorothy Hillier Phillips. Wendell served three years in USAF during the Vietnam War. After graduating from University of Massachusetts Boston with a degree in history he went on to work for the City of Boston for the rest of his career. Wendell was a loving parent, grandparent and friend to all who knew him, he was kind, jovial and caring and was happiest when around family. His smile was contagious and sense of humor was always present whether with a funny quip or comment he always lightened the mood and everyone loved him. He spent his golden years with his wife Hsiao-mei exploring all the best restaurants in whatever area they were in. He is survived by his wife Hsiao-mei (Wang) Phillips whom he married in 1970; son and daughter in law Jeffrey and Rocio of Chula Vista; grandchildren Jason and Matthew; daughter Elaine and her fiance Daniel Martinez of Las Vegas as well as his siblings Diane (Phillips) McAvoy, Craig Phillips and wife Karen Phillips and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bruce Phillips.
We love you Wendell, and will miss you dearly. Rest in peace, and know that you will always be in our hearts.
A private service will be held in his memory and Interment will be at May 19, 2023 at 0800 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
A committal service for Wendell will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 8:40 AM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
