

Bill was a proud member of the U.S. Army, enlisting in and serving in both the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. He spent much of his miliary career working as a mechanic on Apache helicopters, even training young mechanics not long before his retirement. His commitment to service and his country was unwavering, and he was a decorated veteran.
Beyond his military career, Bill enjoyed working in his garage, watching NASCAR races and cheering on his favorite football team, the Los Angeles Chargers. He also loved animals and enjoyed time by his backyard pool. He was an active member of the BlackJack Corvette Club and a member of American Legion Post #8. He loved spending time with friends and family and was known for his kindness, generosity and especially his sense of humor.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Norma Jean Hunting. He is survived by his son, William (Will) Hunting and grandsons, Jacob and Zachary; his stepdaughter Dori Myers and his grandson Brandon; his brothers Butch Hunting and Bob Stapleton and their families; and many more friends and family. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A private interment will be held in Whittier, California where Bill will be laid to rest beside his wife, Jean. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bill’s name to your local American Legion post or other veteran’s organization.
A visitation for William will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Downtown, 1325 North Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
